- Dimensions
Base diameter: 76mm, depth of collar: 53mm
- Description
Small urn reddish-brown and completely undecorated (probably Bronze Age in date). The rim has a shallow bevel. It doesn't seem the same urn as the one photographed in the Cumberland and Westmorland Transactions and which was excavated at Appleby Slack, Birkrigg by the North Lonsdale Field Club (see CWAAS, 1914, p471), but in the 1970 transactions it is stated that the original early reconstructions were very inaccurate and therefore it was re-done with the new measurements for Appleby Slack urn no. 1 matching the object now in the collections.
